When you guys are working on the next release of FB I have a feature that would make my life a bit easier.
We have the need to record the number of defects that were opened against a product (this is not a problem) and then determine the average number of days each defect was open.
The problem is the only way I have found to determine the number of days each defect was open is to open the defect and get the date it was opened and the date it was closed. As you can imagine with a large project this takes quite a bit of time.
If we could just get a column added that would display the number of days each defect was open and possibly a total at the bottom of the page that would save me so much time.
Thanks for your consideration.
CaseDetective for FogBugz has the following fields that might be of interest to you:
Opened to Resolved
Opened to Closed
Resolved to Closed
Each gives the difference in "2 days 3 hours" format or you can use the accompanying " - Hrs" columns which give you straight decimal hours.
Extract to CSV and load up into Excel with just a couple of clicks to get your totals.
See my 3rd newsletter for a tip on how to automate this kind of thing with Excel so that all you have to do is hit extract and then refresh or open your spreadsheet.
