Have you considered making the Project – Client relationship “many-to-many”? We track our application as a series of projects (one for each major application module), this is subdivided by the areas within the module. The issue is that we get request for enhancements from several customers and would like to be able to produce a list of requests (cases) by client. Currently, it looks like you can only have a project / department assigned to one client or department. Is there possibly another way to handle this?
I apologize for the confusion caused here as its our fault, but Clients (and Departments) are to be used to manage permissions for a client that will actually log into your FogBugz installation.
If your clients are not logging into your install, then you can safely ignore these two links at the top of the page.
To track which "client" a case is for, the best option is to use one of the two built in custom fields and rename one to be Client (click on Site to manage them).
You could even make a small modification so that the field displayed as a dropdown (html <select>) instead of a text input.
