Double quotes in case subject is an error in IE

In IE, if you go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab, and uncheck "Disable script debugging", editing a case that has quotes in the subject reveals JavaScript errors.

For every character you type in the text area, a script error dialog is displayed.

Is there some workaround for this (besides "don't do that" :) )?  If not, can a fix be put into a release soon, or post a fix here?

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

I can't reproduce this in the latest releases 4.0.29 on the trial and 4.0.31 shipping.

Are you using an older version?

No, I'm using 4.0.31.

We have changed some of the code, so I am trying to get set up with the original code to test this.

I am also wondering if it has to do with having snippets that contain the subject of the case.  I'll try that too.

I restored our code to the unmodified FogCreek version.  I tried to edit a case with double quotes in the subject, and I got the JavaScript error dialogs.

Then I deleted our snippet with the subject in it, edited the case, and did not get any errors.

Then I created a snippet with {subject} in it, tried to edit the case, and the errors came back.

Case subject: Case with double "quotes in the title

Snippet replacement text: this is the subject: {subject}

Can you try to reproduce it?

Thanks,
John

I got it... must be the snippet.  I'll log it and have someone take a look.
