I've just started evaluating a trial version of FogBugz and am puzzled by the "Fix For" field. The tip for this field reads, "When does this case need to be resolved?" However this seems to be exactly what the "Due Date" field is asking.
Also, "Fix For" defaults to "Undecided" and there seems to be no way to change this, or to enter something else in the field.
What is the purpose of "Fix For" and how do I change its value?
Fix For is for code milestones. Such as V1, or 1.3 which is supposed to be released on June 6, 2006 for example. But as we all know, ship dates slip, so you can reset the date of the fix for when that happens.
Due dates are for cases that have very specific due times (usually within the next few days or weeks). It provides a higher granularity than Releases (or Fix Fors as we call them).
You can make new releases in the Project settings. Just go to edit a project and you'll find the details.
