A forum for technical support discussion related to Fogbugz.
I did a search and this has been requested before (see
http://support.fogcreek.com/default.asp?fogbugz.4.23397.3) but it's still not a feature so I'll ask for it again.
Let me help sell it though.
This case in particular has a couple hundred reports already and somewhere in all those reports is a note from someone (some PERSON) who investigated it and made a note.
But can we find the note?
No we can't.
Because there are a couple hundred pages of appended bug reports.
If the guy who investigated it could tag his BugEvent as a "sticky" then it would show at the top of the bug event audit trail (wicked!! hurrah !!).
Or an alternative to the Title field called "BugScout Title" or something like that. If a new BugSCout error came in the title of that bug report would be matched against the "BugScout Title" instead of the Title.
Why would that be good? Because then we could change the blessed Title to something useful.
An editable Case Description field would address MY need for this feature.
It would be very useful for bugs, but also for inquiries and features.
I use FogBugz for tracking, prioritizing and documenting detail-level features: this description field would be ideal spot to capture the official description of the feature's design and behavior.

I have opened a case to consider the future feature of an extended description field. As for the problem of BugScout, this posting shows that you can in fact change the title of a case opened by BugScout and still have subsequent reports be associated with it.
Hope this helps!
