Feture Request: Enforce password length and strength ?

I want to force my users to change their FB passwords periodically, make pw's strong, etc.

How best to do that?

(Ideally, I want to move to something like a secureID fob with dynamic pw...)

Doable in FB?

Force them to change passwords periodically?  Doable.

Update Person SET sPassword = 'garbage'

And then send them an email letting them know their password has been reset.

This will set everyone's password to something they don't know and they can reset their password using this link:

http://yourfogbugz/default.asp?pg=pgForgotPassword

Or they can click that link when they try to log in.

Force a particular type of password?  You'd have to change the source code for this.

Ohhhhh.

Doing that in SQL with an out of band email is not going to fly for us (sorry). We need it within FB.

We certainly want FB to enforce PW length and strength. (Shouldn't all web apps have this built in.... these days?)

I've created a case to aggregate this feedback.  As we hear requests from other customers, we'll consider providing this.  Thanks!

Consider pointing FogBugz at your LDAP server as well.  Then you can manage that there.

Pointing at LDAP....

Thank you for the suggestion!

I will set up FB on a test box, and try it with LDAP for auth.

Thanks!
