A forum for technical support discussion related to Fogbugz.
There are two ways to add the search engine provider to Firefox (this issue is only important under Firefox as IE does not show search engine providers icons).
First, you can select Extras->"Install search engine".
This way is the "standard" way and works perfectly (you get the search engine installed and it has an icon associated to it).
Second, you can load any Fogbugz page, unfold the search provider box (in the upper-right corner of the UI), select "Fogbugz" from the list and add it.
The search engine gets added to your list but no icon is shown.
It's a small issue, but it would be nice to get it fixed.
I tried waiting around to no avail. The icon did not show up.
I dug out a little deeper and looked at the content of both search engine plugins.
They are stored in "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\YOUR_PROFILE\searchplugins\fogbugz.xml".
The one installed from the Extras menu contains an <os:Image> tag with the actual base64-encoded image content.
The one installed directly from Firefox's Search Engine box does not contain the <os:Image> tag.
That would explain why the one from the Extras menu shows its icon and the other one doesn't.
It would be great if the two methods could be "synced" to both provide the icons.
