Feature Request:Assign release for any project within Department

You can set up releases that can have cases assigned from any project.  Can you set up releases that can accept any case from any project within a department?

Can you provide us with a use case for this?  Having trouble visualizing the benefit.

I can see the benefit of this, instead of having a release either for a specific project or across all projects, a release that covers all the projects that a single department has ownership of could be very useful.

If department A has 5 projects (products) that they are responsible for, they may have a single release date that all projects have work for.

Department B has another separate 3 projects that they work on, they don't care about the release date that's across the 5 projects of department B, so get a little annoyed when they see it in all their Release pop-ups because department A set it up as a global release rather than add it to each of their 5 projects.

So if a department could have it's own set of releases that are global to just it's own projects, that would be a very useful change.

Okay, I've created a case to see how this fits with future development plans.

We have three different situations like Ian has described.  I spend a lot of time with copy and paste as a result.  Thanks for adding a request on this.
