A forum for technical support discussion related to Fogbugz.
in our setup, we use Subversion as SCM system and we frequently merge revisions across different branches. When doing merges, we use the "svnmerge" tool which prepares a commit message which quotes all the commit messages of the revisions being merged.
This causes a problem with FogBugz: in fact, if I merge 100 revisions in one commit, and those 100 revision touched a total of 100 files and 20 bugs, the CVS tables grows by 100*20 = 2000 records.
This then causes problem when displaying the bugs, because it gets very very slow at parsing the information (and eventually PHP times out). This bug has already been reported at least once:
We will patch FogBugz to somehow detect our merges and make it not update the CVS table. But I suggest that the design of the CVS table is revised not to have this quadratic explosion.
