Feature Request: Merge Cases

We have a lot of situations where people don't include the case number in replies to an issue tracked in Fogbugz and it creates a new case. We could mark it as a duplicate, but it makes it trickier to follow and track, plus there are all the extra steps to resolve then close it.

It would be nice if you could have the ability to just append all the commentary on a case onto another case and delete the current case for these situations. Anyone else with me on this?

Yes. I'd actually call it "better handling of duplicate cases". For instance, I had two cases that were basically the same task, but they both had a ton of information in them, all of which were relevant to the task. I copied the text of the one into the other, but that looked really ugly.

It would be great if when you marked a duplicate case, you had the option to merge the two cases.

This is something that is certainly on our list.  There are some tough usability and UI issues to contend with for this feature, and we are still working on an implementation that does what you want, but doesn't make it confusing or difficult to do.

We need this too.  It would also be useful to 'split' a case as well.  I hate tickets that say 'I have 2 issues...'
