Feature Request: Offline Support

Doing a lot of traveling.  Have a lot of customer service e-mail to respond to.  Being able to do it on the airplane would be nice.  A la, Google Gears.

Huh, this is the second request we've gotten for this recently.  I'll say what I said to the other correspondent. Really this is just a matter of economics. Dev time vs. potential benefit:

Because FogBugz is largely a tool for collaboration, offline work and syncing present special design challenges.  We're not yet convinced of the benefit of being able to work offline, especially with the rate of wireless broadband expansion.  In short, this would take a long time to do, and we're not sure it'd help a great deal.

I certainly understand the economics and the design challenges. But I just wanted to chime in and say that I would find syncing useful for the sake of an iPhone client. Cell networks are slow and people don't always have the cell network or Wi-Fi. Being able to store a copy on the device and sync to the server would allow users to do some actions when they don't have a network and give a faster experience for the stored cases. So it'd be nice. :-)

This is something I would like too.  I sometimes work on the bus in a 2 hour ride.  I could always print my list of cases, but then I don't have the history.

Even if I had just a read-only view, I'd be happy.

I know I could use the fbcli to get the data and drop it in a file, but then it's not a pretty UI.  I've grown fond of the UI :)
