A forum for technical support discussion related to Fogbugz.
It has been a while since we have had some news. How close are we to the start of beta for FB 7 for Linux?

That's good to hear!! What would be even better is if my support contract got extended by the time from the Windows release to the Linux release. :-)
For a web based application I still cannot understand how it takes this long to get concurrent applications out. Oh wait.... Maybe Apache, MySQL & PHP don't exist for Windows.

FogBugz 7 for Linux is a completely new, untested platform for us. We are switching from VBScript for Windows, and PHP for Unixes to ASP.NET / Mono respectively, now using the same FogBugz assembly for both. The hardest things for us are fixing the various bugs in Mono, finding acceptable replacements for our Windows-only dependencies (like the .NET LDAP library, which has a slightly different assembly on Mono), fixing our install.sh script, and finally rearchitecting the way Apache is installed and used for FogBugz to separate it from the version of Apache other applications on your server run. These changes take time, and we thank you for your patience.
