Feature Request: Improve usability of bulk action buttons

At present, to highlight all the cases in the gridview, I have to be at the top of the page to click the "check all" checkbox. (This assumes that the sort doesn't have the grid organized into groups, in which case there are multiple "check all" checkboxes.)

Then I have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to use one of the bulk action buttons (e.g. "Resolve").

This is annoying and difficult to use. Ideally, the "check all" checkbox and the bulk action buttons would be at the top and bottom of the gridview. If not that, then they should be next to each other so I can just check the checkbox and click the button I'm interested in without having to navigate the page.

Try using the keyboard shortcuts or even better the context menu (select your cases, hover over one of them and click the drop down menu that appears in the title area of the case).

I'll have to figure out the keyboard shortcuts. It's unintuitive to use a case-specific context menu to do bulk edits on multiple cases. Also, I avoid that right now because there's a bug that leaves multiple cases selected after adding subcases to a case directly in the gridview. If I select edit on a subcase in that situation, I end up editing all the selected cases. There should only be one selected case - the most recently added subcase. So right now I make sure no cases are selected before I do anything via the context menu.

I still believe the feature request is valid. Numerous sites and "best practices" guides put these kinds of actions both above and below the fold.

Looking at the keyboard shortcuts help page, I don't see any keyboard shortcuts for the bulk action buttons.

Donnie, I was noticing the same problem as well. I agree that your design suggestion is an improvement over the current UI design. I hope this suggestion makes it through one of the next versions of foggbuz soon.
